Winter can be as much fun as summer in Niagara Falls. And besides the usual Falls, Casinos and Clifton Hill, the region offers a lot more to couples here on their honeymoon or just a romantic get-away. Here are some things I’ve found on both sides of the river.
Warner Ranch and Pumpkin Farm, Niagara Falls, offers traditional Sleigh rides. Their price is $125.00 for a 1 hour ride. They also have a party room where you can bring refreshments. They have 2 sleighs, one seating small groups up to six and another for 12 or more. They are located at 7705 Schisler Road in Niagara Falls and can be contacted at 905-384-2684.
There is nothing like an outdoor winter skating experience! And it can’t get any better when it’s overlooking the Falls. Just adjacent to Table Rock at the Falls is the TD Rink at the Brink. This open air outdoor skating rink is open from December 1st to Feb 29th. Please visit http://www.wfol.com/TDRINKatTheBrink/ for more information.
The CAA Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls offers the experience of wonder in the Christmas season – and it’s free! Set along the Niagara Parkway at the falls these displays range from religious, to traditional Christmas to Disney and fun characters for the kids. Every day (November 5 – January 31) as the sun sets these works of art will be sure to make you smile and are all made available by by CAA. It is said to be one of the best light displays in the world.
A really wonderful way to end the day and the evening is to enjoy the fireworks provided by Niagara Parks all year round. All performances take place at 9pm on Fridays unless otherwise noted.
