Dear readers: I am working hard to get the trilogy on Medieval weddings finished. The last part will be filled with ideas for a Medieval wedding reception. It’s almost complete but I didn’t want to let a week go by without a post.

To help me out I’ve asked wedding officiant Loretta Jaunzarins, who happens to be my mom, to post on her recent trip to Cambria, California, a fabulous honeymoon destination.

Thanks Jordin and hello readers! It’s nice to be with you this week as a guest blogger. Last week my daughter Juliah and I drove along the Pacific Coastal Highway from Los Angeles to Cambria for a mini-vacation.

What follows are some photos that I took of the lovely seascape, gardens and town of Cambria. Cambria is already a renowned honeymoon destination and I highly agree! You might want to consider Cambria if you are planning a California coast honeymoon.

We had an excellent meal and service at Robin’s that first night in Cambria. Their garden patio is stunning and quickly filled with guests as the evening lengthened. And they were more than happy to let me take photos.

The next morning we headed to Hearst Castle which made for a fabulous morning of touring the castle and the grounds. Below are a couple of collages as we took too many pictures to post individually.

Then it was off to explore the beach and this lovely town.

Pictured above: beach boardwalk and patio shot at Linn’s Restaurant.

We enjoyed tea and pie at Linn’s Restaurant and visited their farmstore just outside of Cambria where they grow their famous ollalieberries and have a lovely gift and pie shop.

We toured the gardens at Cambria Pines Lodge before having a late dinner there. Both the gardens and the dinner were excellent. The Cambria Pines Lodge would be a gorgeous spot for a wedding and reception. But I think you might have to book well in advance at this popular destination!

We stayed at the Best Western Fireside Inn right on the coast. One delightful thing you’ll notice about Cambria is that all of the buildings are low rise which means beautiful views from all directions.

Our mini-vacation was over far too quickly. Cambria has many quaint shops and restaurants and lots to offer. On our way home we stopped by Hearts Ease.

This shop has lovely gifts and, you got it, another gorgeous garden. We purchased from their great selection of pot-pourri and lavender to make sachets. We loved how they packaged up our purchase and allowed us to photograph their garden. Enjoy!

Jordin, thanks for letting me post this week! Looking forward to the third part of the Medieval triology next week!
